DjAccount is a simple but complete and reliable accounting system. It focuses on the needs of small and medium sized organizations by focusing on the functional uses cases the most important for them.

This set of features can be extended to cover more usecases, to add specific accounting systems or to integrate with other systems of the organization.

DjAccount can be used as a standalone desktop application, the data being stored on the user PC. The data can also be in a central database on the network, which is accessed through the desktop application (feature targeted for DjAccount v0.6).

Download

The latest stable release DjAccount (v0.2.1) can be downloaded here.

The latest development builds are available here, they should be used for testing purpose only.

Installation and configuration

Java installation

In order to be able to use DjAccount, you need first to have Java installed (at least version 1.5, aka. Java 5).

You can get the latest version of Java on the official web site http://java.sun.com or directly the tested version from Argeo website here (easier).

Execute the downloaded file and follow the instruction. In doubt, leave all default values suggested by the installer, none of them can harm.

DjAccount installation

After installing Java, simply unzip the zip file you have downloaded (see above) to the location where you want DjAccount to be installed. Then click on DjAccount.exe to start DjAccount.

If you want to update an existing installation you should rather use the update manager provided with DjAccount.

DjAccount configuration

At first start DjAccount will ask you to choose:

  • an accounting system
  • a default currency

After you validate these choices, the data will be prepared (it may last a little bit depending on your computer). When this is completed you are ready to use DjAccount.
