The Challenge: Open source software is fragmented, with varying levels of quality and sustainability.

• There is not a single entry point for support as with proprietary technologies such as Microsoft .NET
• New versions of various libraries are released independently, increasing the risk of compatibility issues
• It requires experience and sustained focus to follow multiple open source projects in order to assess their level of quality
